Hi Guys,

Looking for some advice...

My boyfriend has just been offered a permanent job in Abu Dhabi with housing and medical for himself.

I'm a school teacher and have a 8yo daughter.

The question is do we get married before I move out there or wait and live separately with the accommodation I'm offered first then marry at a later date.

I have been told that if we marry before I move out then I would get a lower rate of pay and would also not get the accommodation, medical or return flights home.

Is this correct? Has anyone experienced this?

Looking for some advice.

There is nothing official or legal that regulates rate of pay for married or unmarried females.

Every employee is entitled to medical benefits and return flights home irrespective of the above.

What people might be referring to is exploitative practices by some companies to lower their cost by doing this.

I know plenty of married couples who both have medical insurance and benefits for the entire family from BOTH companies.

I would suggest to marry first as otherwise you won't be able to sponsor your daughter for a UAE residence visa easily.
