Employment Pass Rejection and appeal.

My company in Singapore recently applied for a employment pass, the salary I am being offered is 7900 sgd and the title is senior product specialist and I presume the company took care of all the other prerequisite as my offer took a lot of time.

However, within two weeks I got to know that my employment pass was rejected due to the reason that I had marked yes in the section “have you even been denied entry or deported from any country” in the details section I wrote that in 2014 my application for a USA visit visa was denied.

After my employment pass rejection my employer asked me for the reason for my USA visa refusal which was simply lack of travel on my passport at that stage while applying for the USA visa.

The company has appealed. I wonder if someone can guide me regarding a similar experience.

Why you would say “Yes”? Do you know the difference between denied entry or deported AND unsuccessful visa application?

Denied entry or deported means you have visa in hand but at immigration checkpoint the officer didn't give permission to enter the country which means you were deported at the checkpoint. How come your employer didn't guide you this!

Next time consult someone if you have doubt rather declaring incorrectly. Check your employer to request MoM to reconsider application with the rationale (if the above reason was for rejection). Good luck

I stated "yes" but in the other details section, I clearly mentioned the description that it was only a visa application rejection and nothing more. I know the difference now however nothing can be done about it.

As per my company this is the only reason due to which my EP was rejected and they have shared the reason for my visa rejection with the ministry in the appeal.

I really wish my company had asked me for clarity before submitting the EP form on this point of the declaration, if there was a discrepancy and it would have been cleared there and then.

Did you get an approval at the end?
