Hello Guys, Please a friend of mine got married here in Brazil for the past 4 years and 5 months, now his marriage has problems, the wife is asking for divorce, so my question is that, will he loose his RNE perminent resident permit after divorce ? concerning the new laws, please i need your help for me friend. There is a chance of loosing permanent residence depending on how cranky she or her lawyer gets. If the CRNM was based on marriage.

Thanks for your response, and i agree with james, because before the new laws, when marriage lasted for more than 4 years, the resident permit granted through marriage becomes Permanent, this means even divorce occured after 4 years of marriage, you will not loose the RNE status in brazil, so my question is that, how is the new laws applicable to this?
