Hi all,

I am a Mauritian girl. I would like to get married to a non citizen boy here in Mauritius. Could anyone here please explain me the whole procedure for the marriage and how to obtain the residence permit.

Please also note that he is on a work contract here in Mauritius. His contract will be over by March 2020. We want to get married before his contract is over.

He doesnt have neither his work contract nor his passport with him. The are kept with the employer. He only has a copy of his passport. So how can we proceed for the residence permit?

If your prospective husband is under contract under the work permit delivered by the Ministry of Labour ( based on the info you have given), you will have to get the govt permission before you get married.

New laws have passed since March 8 2019 , do a search on this forum to get the latest info .
