Moving to Albania

Hi all, I am Vita, from Taiwan, I would like to ask about the life of a country to start a business (hostel/restaurant), and also about how to apply for self-employment work and sign the relevant regulations / procedures / fees, thank you for your reply and share.

Hello,it is a good way to make a bussines, about the self employment you have to to an office Zyra e punes

Faleminderit Marinel97 , here in the UK we need inspections by health and hygiene for a restaurant , insurance ..many things . Is there a good way to check such things from abroad ? Do you know of any property agents that cover the North by any chance.

I do not know exactly, but I have seen in many restaurants they take it in the private bussines, and in most cases is just a formality, the certificate, and are not any inspection about that,in Albania are not this things,I say for little city not about capital and others, agents are very, but my advice is to see in the south, the people are coming from north to the capital or Durres. The cities in north are with a small quantity of people. And is very cold

Marinel97
HAHAHA said like a true lady of the South . You are in the city of a 1,000 windows??
I know the North better and fell in love with Lezhe and Shkodra. I have a specific project / dream in mind . I want to get a property that is able to be converted into a small hotel. However I would not be entering the hotel business.. So I would be interested in hotels that are too small for the bigger companies and away from the normal beach or tourist attractions and so either closed or open to offers. It is an idea that I have kicked around for around 5 years. I saw possible sites but nothing is set yet !
thank you so much for your time and thoughts and just think how confusing the North is linguistically for a poor learner !!  Hope that makes you smile and that your day rewards you,
Regards

Just for curiosity why all the people there think I am a lady lol😂😂😂
I born in Lushnje near Berat, the city of congress, that made the capital Tirana, have an apartment in Durres, and am continuing my studies in Tirana,am living in different places...
Have my ant a building with 2 floors and a garden in a village,if you are interested.

Marinel97
Many apologies if we should call you Sir  ( Zoti)  and not madam ( Zonja) . I guessed because I have come across Marinela s on line ...but no males with a similar name !
I am needing to do a lot of work and studies and cannot commit just yet. I think the preparation will take some effort and details of the building and location would be an issue . I am hoping to bring foreigners to Albania so clear routes to Airports are a factor.
I thought Lushnje was all about water melons ...forgot the history  but I may be stuck in 1444 !!
I appreciate your time and humour , Thank you .  What subjects are you studying ??

Is a village called Bubullim, near Lushnje and Fier.
I have finished bachelor in law,and hope this year to do the master.

Marinel97
I assume 2 years for masters ?  and then ?
Will you become an advocate or practice commercial law or do you have other specialities in mind ?  ..Here the advocates are separated from the attorney function . I understand property law is complicated by the [political history in Albania and there is some work to be had !! Our system is very different !! The case law is heavy going and small firms have almost disappeared due to professional litigation cases against firms . The days of the family and local solicitor have gone and so it is very brand orientated.
thanks for the information ,
To your ongoing success !!
regards Mike

Yes,2 years master but here you get information for all, penal, civil, public, and I can work in all  this sectors, here master is penal, civil, public,I want to do civil master,I do not need specialise because here are not,I can work in public works,or in courts, prisons,my type of master is not problem...
With attorney if you are refering to notary is after master, but I want to be a advocate I have to finish master then I will apply to the school of advocate,I will do practice near an advocate and saturday I will go to the school,my title will be assistant advocate, and after 1 year I will do the exam,if I will get the points needed I will get the licence for advocate,
About the property law was very bad,now the things are a bit different, but have to be done more.
Here the advocates are for all the cases, penal, civil, property, family, administration etc.For all the cases.

Marinel97 ,
in court we are generally represented by a barrister ( advocate ) . A solicitor would research the case and select the barrister . Solicitors will choose the specialization and so the clients have to choose the correct firm !  Likewise a student like you would have to choose .
at your stage there is not generally a masters programme . You would either choose the barrister exams  ( the BArr) or Solicitor . the Barr is 2 years ...for those who have a Law degree then they can do the solicitor in one year ...others 2 years …
It does not make the best practice unless you can employ top firms . Fees wil start at £200 pr hour ….but better ones £500 ..and more !..Different worlds
I wish you good luck
Mike

Thank you very much for the information,I did not know this things, here Is master of science or professional master is 2 year after bachelor I have only to chose between civil, penal, administration, but if I do master of science,I can be secretar in court, director of custom, director of prison, and if have good marks can do the doctoratur that is 5 years, here if I am not doing master I can not be an advocate or anything else, and after doing this master,is a master called 2 level, that is a specialisation for 1,I do not know exactly but I think is only abroad

Marinel97 ,
it is not tooo dsimilar but our system is old fashioned , I t appears that most professions require a masters in Albania ! I think thta you have very vigurous and rapid examinations . Constant pressure . Here it is all on the end of the year in most subjects !!

the one thing that I do know is that if you are good with people then being an advocate or the first lawyer for clients . If you are more academic minded then the director will be good for you. You are obviously a clever man that will make good decissions and I can aplaude you kindness and respectful manner !
regards Mike

Hi Vita Chung

It look this post is a little bit old, but let me help you about situation :

-A new business can be registered easy, just 1(one ) day with minimal fee
-Starting a coffe bar or restaurant can cost from 20.000 -200.000$, just setting up the business, further step the rent must be paid
-A hotel cost more, but you can rent existing business, Bar, restaurant or Hotel.
-If you are interested investing in other business, please let me know, I have Ready start-up plans including real estate property etc.

Wish you good luck
