Help !

Good afternoon.

I hope you are well and can assist me.

My wife and I are very interested in immigration to Vietnam or staying on a long term work Visa.

We are in South Africa.

I'm 47 and my wife is 43 , I'm an ex policeman and have been in the security industry for the last 20 years , I've worked in Casinos,  guarding and at DHL logistics all as security manager.

My wife is a qualified nail technician and personal trainer and pilates instructor and currently manages a gym.

We are looking at visiting Vietnam in September to look for work.

Your advise would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Have you investigated an intra-company transfer with DHL?

Your wife probably will have more opportunity in the pilates/gym field.  Vietnam probably has more nail technicians per capita than any other country.

Hi , no I'm not with DHL any more , not for a good few years , so you saying there are opportunities in the fitness sector but not security industry?

I'm also an ex firearm instructor and have done a train the trainer certificate,  as I was training people in theory and practicals . Dont know if that helps me at all ?

I was simply making different comments for you and your wife based on what you wrote.  I used a small back-street gym in my neighborhood where the owner didn't speak a word of English, but I read on this site that there are fancy gyms in the downtown hotels that cater to foreigners.  Just guessing but security could be a tough field for a foreigner to crack.  Except maybe at the highest management level wouldn't it be dependent on interaction with the public?  Still, if you left DHL on good terms, it might be a good idea to check in with them.

Thank you very much for your feed back.  Appreciate it

Dear friend,

You can take time to search for foreign company (US companies) which has manufacturing plants in VN or hotels. They will need a Security manager to take care of work flow to ensure security and control the plants and hotel.

Just my ideas for your reference.
