What are the activities everyone must try at least once in Turkey?

What are the activities that one should partake in if they want to discover the local culture?

Are there any activities that are characteristic of Turkey?

Do you have an anecdote to share about any of the activities listed above?

Please share your experience,

Priscilla

Hello,

1. Food - Turkish food is THE best in the world, don't fear it and don't miss it. From the high scale restaurants to the street food, it's all good.

2. Live music - Turkish music, dancing, is as unique as its own culture and can be a lot of fun. Combine the food and music, it's great.

3. Cities - many have their own specialties, such as Bursa is famous for their towels as well as skiing. Take some home. Ask anyone they will tell you about the place you intend to go. Bodrum packs a million or more people in summer, in winter the population goes way down.

4. Seas - Tours of the Bosphorus, tours to the Princes Islands or even the Greek Islands, beaches on the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, or countless cafes and restaurants that sit against the seas, take your pick and have fun.

5. Shopping - from back street shops with great bargains to beach town shops with great souvenirs such as in Bodrum and Marmaris, to high class malls, or street shopping as on Baghdad street in İstanbul, you can buy just about anything.

Turkey accommodates expats and aims to please.
