13A VISA

I plan on moving to Philippines in several months.  I am married to a filipina national.  I been to the Philippines 4 times in the last year and a half. Other than my police clearance from the stats. What else do i need from usa. Do i just go to the embassy in Manila.  And request a application?

You can apply for your 13A visa while in the U.S. and bypass the one year probationary period.  This can be done through the Philippine consulate that services your area.

The link below is from the San Francisco consulate:

Another option if traveling with your Filipina wife is to ask for the 1 year Balikbayan privilege stamp in your passport when you arrive.  Have you marriage license with you and when you arrive at the airport in the RP, go through the BI line with your wife so the agent can see you are together. Ask the BI agent for the Balikbayan stamp.

Document Authentication changes:
As of May 14th this year. Your stateside issued documents can no longer be authenticated at the Department of Foreign Affairs in the RP or through the Philippines consulates in the U.S. (red ribbon authentication) .  The Philippines has now become a participating member of the Hague convention and now uses Apostille documentation in the RP.

When you contact the consulate ask them about your documents and if you were married in the U.S. you will need to register your marriage with the consulate in order for it to be registered in the RP.
