Hi everyone,
I'm creating this topic to ask you about my 182 days in Malaysia.
I have started working here since 11 Jan 2019 until now. During this working time, I only went out of Malay for 4 day business trip (not considered as being out of Malaysia)
This 19 July, I plan to visit my country for over 14 days and as I counted on Google, there are 188 days from 11 Jan 2019 to 18 Jul 2019.
Is it safe for me? Can I leave on that day since I have booked the flights already

The 14 day rule does not apply because you didn't work in Malaysia in 2018 tax year*. You will qualify as tax resident when you have been in Malaysia for a TOTAL of 182 days.
*14 day rule is how to link two tax years

Thank you so much for your reply.
May I ask you 1 more question? That means I can leave on 19 Jul and the tax office will not force me to pay 28% tax after I come back right? Because I have been paying it.
I'm just afraid that they would reset my 6 months of 28% taxation
