Hi there, can we hire a scooter using our Aust licences or do we need international. I read somewhere we need a local license. Anyone know please

The bigger problem we found was finding travel insurance that will cover you in the event of an accident, without a Vietnamese driving license.
Check the small print on the policy...

You can rent a scooter anywhere ( almost) without any liscence. We left an ID card or drivers liscence etc for deposit. We were not asked for anything. I would recommend an international liscence and proper insurance.
The owner of my guesthouse would not rent to me without proper paperwork. He's had trouble in the past with police and customers. .
