This is commonly luck of the draw. Many tradesmen here are people that know a bit out whatever, but have no actual training, or are angkot drivers that need a little extra income.

If your walking/ driving around and see renovation / new builds happening at larger buildings pop in and see the contractor superintendent/ supervisor.
some gated communities have a preferred builder/s like at our place, excellent standard but that is quite rare
