Hi! I am one of the numerous people befuddled by the evisa in the Vietnam - the official one, not the VOA. Flying to Hanoi from Melbourne in about 10 days; stopping briefly in transit to change planes in HCM City.

I applied for and received my evisa via the immigration portal - no problems. Unfortunately however I put the incorrect port of entry as Hanoi. I should strictly have put HCM City, as that's where i will initially have to go through immigration.

Is this a problem? I am told it shouldn't be, though the official web site is slightly ambiguous on the question. Any views welcome - especially if they are reassuring!

Will your passport get stamped until you reach Hanoi?

yes it'll get stamped on arrival at HCH I'd think.

Call the VN immigration office near you and ask them your question. They might help you. I had a good conversation in 216 with the staff at the New York office. They were friendly and professional.
