Looking for advice on getting a Stable Union visa. Planning on moving to Brazil in July to be with my boyfriend. We are not married or ready to be married at this time, but we have proof of visiting each other for 4+ years on our passports. Also, does a Stable Union allow me to work in Brazil? If I use up the 180 days of my tourist visa and do not obtain a work visa in that time, I will not be able to re-enter the country for a whole year. I need to avoid that.

Must be done in Brazil. Proof of residence and more. Without such do not believe you can get all with out tourist visa and going to PF for assistance.
I had same issue and once we were sure we obtained the document in brazil and had civil marriage at the local notary. All documents must be in Portuguese and have a witness present, Then start permanent residence in BR. Recommend 10 year visa as it take time. PF can extend stay once protocol is issued.
