New members of the Thailand forum, introduce yourselves here - 2019

Hi all,

Newbie on the Thailand forum? Don't know how to start?

This thread is for you ;)

We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your expat story if you are already living in the country,
or to tell us more on your expat projects in Thailand if you are planning to move there.

It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.

Welcome on board!

Hello all,
I am planning to move to Bangkok later part 2019. Have invested in a condo in Bangna.

Cheers.

2. Educational background: UK (London). Technical fields: IT, Finance, Properties and Education.

4. Plays the piano and guitar. Love sentimental songs.

Hope that gives you more about me.

Hello,

I am Cindy, I am married and got 2 kids: one little girl of 6 and one little boy of 2. We first discovered Thailand 4 years ago and we totally felt in love with this country and culture! Since that date, we went there a few more times and are now planning to live there! Koh Samui would be the great place for us... Any advice to fulfill this project is welcome! Especially in terms of housing and job opportunities. I have been working as a business developer for 10 years now and have strong skills.

Many thanks,
Cindy

Hi everyone,
Ernest from Scotland.  My first visit to Thailand was January 2018.  I spent 4 weeks in Bangkok studying Thai massage. I did 3 courses back to back and fell in love with the place.

I recently returned from my second visit.  this time in Chiang Mai, again studying Thai massage for 4 weeks.

Idealy I want to keep my massage business in Scotland in the warmer months then escape the British weather by holidaying/studying visiting friends in Thailand for 2 or 3 Winter months.

In Chiang Mai I met someone who was working as a private English teacher.  Now I'm exploring that option.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I love Thailand and I'm trying to find a job there..

I rly need a job
I speak Thai rly well, aswell as english, swedish and finnish. Anything out there for me?

Hi Everyone,
My name is Dimple. I have completed my Masters in Accounting and Finance. I also have four years of work experience in this field. Currently my husband is teaching in a school in Thailand. Am in search of work related to my field. If anybody could help me in this regard would be of great deal.I have been to Thailand 3 times and I love to be here forever.

Your first problem is that you must get a regular visa to stay longer than 30 days. It is no longer possible to do a visa run every 30 days, as you can only do this twice in two years.

I'm not a visa expert, so I cannot advise you. I personally have a yearly retirement visa, not an option for you.

Hi

Hi all !. I'm not exactly new to Thailand, as I've lived here for years and years. But now looking to meet new friends. My local watering hole is on Sukhumvit Soi 22. I walk down to the river some Sundays with my expat friends, to have lunch and a cold one. Anyone wishing to join us please just ping me.

Hi everyone!

I wish you guys a nice weekend whichever part of the world you come from. I just signed up today on account of my interest in moving to Thailand. I have worked in the corporate world for 10 years and just recently, I started doing freelancing. Currently, I work for a Canadian company. I basically handle customer service work for them. I also do some content writing, SME and other general virtual assistant work.

I am planning to move to Thailand in 3 months. I've done a bit of research but would definitely appreciate pieces of advice from the experts.

I was messaging some folks in here until I got blocked. So, for now, can't send new messages. I hope they can get me unblocked soon.

Regards,
Francis

Hey Cindy, we just moved to Samui from the US and would love to meet up if and when you're here.

What was the reason given for you to be blocked?

Hi Everyone,

After more than a decade of wanting to live abroad, my husband and I packed everything into storage and moved to Thailand. We are currently on Koh Samui but may move to another part of the country depending on where we find work.

We'd love to meet up with anyone here, or if anyone has advice on how to meet other Koh Samui expats, please send it our way!

Nicole

We actually found a great pizza place here in Koh Samui! It's Italian-style. It's called La Villa Luna.

I am from India and I wanna start my journey by living in Thailand and teaching English as a foreign language to kids. I've also 4 years of experience in hospitality industry although my best skill would be communicating  in fluent English.

Ey guyz I was wondering what field could allow me to find a job anywhere in thailand. I speak english japanese & french fluently and Im in the middle of carreer change. But I dont know yet what course im gonna pick.
So if you have any suggestions :)
Have a nice day !

Hello Everyone!

My name is Ana. I'm originally from Virginia but I moved to Thailand in January to teach. Currently I'm staying in Nakhon Pathom but I personally want to possibly move further up north. Thailand is inexpensive but teaching does not pay very well so I am looking for higher paying jobs . Anyway I joined to gain more insight and it never hurt to meet more people!

Hi to all

I'm Shibe living in South Africa and looking to move my family to Bangkok. Married with 2 girls, 11 and 1. I'm exploring the TEFL course and would like to teach when I'm there. My husband has extensive knowledge in IT and Project management while I am well experienced in the call center space.

Any advice on how to go about this relocation, jobs and good schools for my kids would be a great help.

Thank you.

Hello!

My name is Bill! I am a 50 year old divorced, no kid kombucha salesman here in Southern Californian and going to Chiang Mai for a month in August. First time in Thailand. I used to work in addiction and mental health for over a decade and considering working for a high end rehab called The Cabin, in Chiang Mai. If I fall in love with Thailand, I will eventually want to work. I was an English teacher in Orlando Florida for a year (temporary teacher's certificate for a really challenging year;-)  so perhaps I have that option if I'm not considered too old.  Any other suggestions appreciated. I'm starting to feel that excitement!

With gratitude.
