My name is Ish Sachdeva & I am an experienced ICT Project / Program Manager carrying 15 Years of experience in working with various global clients. I am Delwin from South Africa. Looking to move to NZ and could do use some guidance on what the processes are. I work as a Senior Systems Administrator and would do a similar role in NZ (Senior System Engineer, Network and Cyber Security etc). I only only starting a Bachelors of Science Informatics next year. This will be via correspondence. I have certifications.

I have 10 yrs experience in the industry with references and projects behind my back, with experience in travelling globally for work. I believe this skill is somewhat on the skills shortage list.

Can I apply for work visas and then seek employment or should I continue applying via sites such as GlassDoor.

Also my GF will be coming with me, she works for Flight Center and is pushing to transfer to one of the Flight Centers in NZ.

I currently live in a Scotland (UK) and I have a job offer from Airways New Zealand to work in Auckland. I have never been to NZ before but we're really keen to move. I have a wife and 2 children so it will be a big move for us. My main concern is obviously finding the right area to live so that we are in a good school. We are not huge city people so we would be looking at living in one of the suburbs or 30 mins drive max from the airport. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to reading other peoples moves to NZ.
