I am thinking of hiring a car on my forthcoming visit to Bucharest in order to drive out of the City to see the sites.
Arer there any pitfalls that I need to be aware of?

I regularly rent cars as it's less hassle than buying and owning one here. I've never had any real problem except one being dropped off late on one occassion, delaying my departure. Just make sure you do a walk around with the guy who drops it off to check for damage before you sign off on the contract.
