Hi, I have a question. I'm from the US and am here on a year long tourist visa. I recently also lived in another country and ordered some things off Amazon with no problem receiving the items I ordered for personal use. I knew I would have to pay custom fees/tariffs and that was no problem.
But now I am having major nightmares trying to import an item I bought on Amazon.
I ordered a camera to replace an older one and although Amazon collected extra fees on top of shipping that they said would cover custom fees/tariffs, I'm now getting a notice telling me I need a TIN#.
As I mentioned, I am not here on a work visa so I don't think I can get one so does anyone have suggestions on how I can get my item? I've never had so many issues with ordering items as a non-business in my life. Not sure why Tanzania makes this so complicated? Anyway, any suggestions would be welcome!
