Hello everyone,

what are the regulations regarding buying property in Mauritius for a spouse of a Mauritian National, therefore, an existing residence permit holder?

There is quite some information on the internet regarding foreigners and their possibilities of acquiring realty following specific investment schemes, however, I've found it rather difficult to gather information for the aforementioned specific initial question.

Hello,

In Mauritius, foreigners can buy apartments located in a building of at least 2 storeys. They can also buy properties situated in specialized programs called IRS/PDS/RES.

Buying properties outside those schemes means it's the Mauritian husband/wife of the foreign spouse who will be the legal name bearer and owner of the property.
