I am moving from Bavaro to Puerto Plata in 2 weeks and am still looking for an affordable 1 bedroom. I plan to Air bnb until i find one. I am also looking for suggestions on how to find work. I still currently only hold my Canadian passport which makes it a little difficult to obtain employment but i do speak English, French and Spanish hold a college degree from Canada but spent several years in sales and tourism. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forums. You will find many options for an affordable apartment in Puerto Plata. But not a lot of options for work honey. There are a few call centers there but most want a cedula for you to be legal.

I don't believe the hotels hire without cedula now either. That will be tough honey.
