Pre-existing health condition and new health insurance

We are looking at moving to Austria and will need an insurance that allows pre-existing conditions. My husband may work as self-employed  (engineer) or he may choose to work as a permanent employee.
1. Is there an agent/broker that can work with us?
2. Do all insurance companies have to provide for pre-existing?
Thank you

Given my experience, to even apply for an Austrian visa and/or residency permit, proof of insurance must be presented. Do you have insurance now?

If you are moving from the USA, many US Healthcare Insurers provide emergency travel coverage, plus there are many insurers that will cover for upwards of 12 months. It really pays to do an internet search, because with the vast number of healthcare insurers, benefits vary and prices go from very reasonable to astronimical. Most all insurers take into consideration pre-existing conditions and they are not covered.

If your husband actually becomes an employee for an Austrian company, surely that employeer will provide some kind of health coverage plan.

Good luck.

Thank you for your response. Yes, we have insurance now. I will study your suggestions
