What is the weather like currently? Heavy rain every day? (I was there last year in July and it rained mostly very late at night for a couple of hours, by daylight it was sunny.)

On my visits to Medellín, moderate late-night rain leading to sunny days was often the norm.
Heavy rain every day .. that's not Medellín in any month, at least never in my experience.
Of course, YMMV.
Check the weather sites with a Google search for ten-day forecasts or 30-day forecasts.
