After a marital issues my wife is wondering what she has to do to move back to the Ukraine to be closer to her family. She would like to buy a flat in the Kiev region and at present has a full UK passport. Does anyone know how difficult it will be to get her citizenship back?

Hi WhiteMaltese. As I know it is not difficult to return Ukrainian citizenship. Your wife need just to live on the territory of Ukraine during three months and to give all needed documents to the migration service. There are many legal agencies which could speed up this procedure.
But please, note, that it is forbiden in Ukraine to have double citizenship. So, if you wife become Ukrainian citizen, she should stop her U.K. Citizenship.

She would need to rescind UK citizenship. It would make sense to get permanent residence rather than citizenship.

All she needs to do is contact Ukrainian Embassy London, They need her documents and she will be given a visa to travel and re register, as a Ukrainian Citizen. She will then need to hand her British passport in as she will be issued a new ID card.
