I lived in Brazil and filed my imposto de rendas for 3 years. I moved away for 6 years but had a CD in Brazil which paid interest one of the years I was away. I am back living in Brazil and find my cpf is blocked due to the one year the cd paid interest. Since I was not living in Brazil did I need to file the imposto de Renda? There is a hefty fine for not having filed and I would rather not have to pay it. Any information would be useful befor I go to the Receita Federal.

Hefty fine that sounds rough.....I'm in a similar situation with my old country South Africa, Struggling to file my taxes there for some small rental income
It's a headache and I'll get it sorted but man it's a hassle
