Hello, I am moving to Asuncion on May 1st. I will in a sector called Carmelitas. My wife and 8 month child also. I speak Spanish however my wife does not. Several of my clients pointed me to this area due to the expat concentration is a bit more than any other area. While I was there I did not meet any english speaking folks. Maybe because it was weekday during the day.

Any suggestions on where to find english speaking folks in that area?

The Carmelitas neighborhood of Asuncion is somewhat close to the American School of Asuncion (ASA) (all english classes). In the neighborhoods surrounding the school, most people speak Spanish and English. You can also go to the Centro Cultural Paraguayo Americano (CCPA) where you will definetly find english speaking people who frequent the library or give english lessons. The CCPA also holds several cultural events during the year as well as theater shows, etc.
