The cost of owning a second home in Gibraltar

Hi all

Myself and my wife got married in Gibraltar two weeks because we love the place. We both retire from the UK police force in 7 years time and I would love to retire to Gibraltar.

We are considering buying a property now that would allow us and the family to visit more often and get us onto the property ladder.

We are only looking at a one or two bed apartment.

Other than the obvious mortgage, I need to understand what ongoing costs are there with a scone property, such as the council tax, utilities etc you have here.

I note there is a service charge in most complexes but I can't find info on how much these tend to be. Do they also cover the utilities.

Any other costs that I may need to consider would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to any responses.

Regards

James and Tina

Management service charge billed quarterly
No council tax but property rate billed quarterly
Utilities for water and electricity billed monthly
Anything else is optional

Hope it is helpful, good luck!
