I am looking at different options of converting my measly cdn. dollars into american BEFORE I
leave for Panama. I have heard of snowbirds.org, but there rates don't seem as great as they
say. MY question is, Has anyone found a way to avoid the conversion fee for every purchase
made in Panama? Trying to find a way to reduce the bleeding.... ....somewhat???
Checking into ATB, Scotiabank, and the TD.....so many options, many accts. are not debit,
friendly. Hope to hear from some people a little smarter than me, I guess!!!, lol.

Hi, not sure if this will help you but some credit cards will allow you to make purchases outside the country with no foreign conversion fees. For me in the US I use american express platinum card when I travel abroad, but you will need to check in Canada to see which ones would be best and not charge you.
