The nightlife scene in Romania

Hello,

Having access to a good nightlife scene can be a determining factor for many expats upon choosing their next destination. Tell us more about the nightlife in Romania.

In Romania, what is the nighlife culture like: is it common for people to go out at night? Is there a big difference between the nightlife during the weekdays and weekends?

What are the most popular evening or nighttime activities (e.g. bars, nightclubs, shows, cultural activities, etc.)?

Is it safe to venture out in the evening and at night in Romania?

Is there anything in particular that surprised you about the nightlife in Romania?

Are there any apps or websites (or any other resources) that would help in staying informed about evening and nighttime activities?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Well, being in a small village our nightlife consists of sitting on the veranda drinking homemade cider whilst listening to good music & the intermittent local dog chorus. For variety we could walk to our local shop which has a coffee machine & bottle opener for the beer & benches outside. Luckily we have the BBC for a spot of reasonably TV viewing! Apart from the odd VERY noisy wedding at the Casa Cultural & Communa Day once a year, there's not a whole lot of excitement at night. Not a bad thing & very economical really once you get used to it! (we lived opposite a pub in England). Sue
