I'm an Egyptian working for a dutch oil company (not the famous one) and there are talks of a new project opening up in Khor Zubair port outside of Basra. I am offered a project manager position over there and I would like to know more about life in that area these days. Most importantly about safety in the area, but also about the accessibility to services like healthcare and leisure.

Yes Ahmed, Basra is as safe as Egypt but forget about medical services or any other one. Of course you will never bring your family here so no need to speak about education. In oil companies you will have safe working environment and good food that's all you can excpect.
