Relocate and papers to follow

Dear,

I has some calls from Recruitment agents whereby jobs are available but the problem is that we are not in the Netherlands. Can we relocate to The Nederlands and when we have found a job, complete the papers for the Working Visa and Permamane residence. Can we apply for these before hand?

Thanks

Hi and welcome back,

As South African citizens, you and your family will need some kind of visa to live and work in the Netherlands and to answer your question, maybe; because you'll need to go through the MVV process (MVV acts as an entry visa and work permit), part of the MVV process is your skills are vetted by the Netherlands Employees Insurance Agency (UWV) and they assess what your chances are of getting work; if they think you'll get work, then you'll probably get through.  MVV includes a Civic integration exam which both you and your wife will have to do (kids under 18 are exempt); this link will take you to the relevant website that will help you through.

There is one other possibility, but only for the highly skilled migrant job classification; if your skill falls into that category, then you'll find it pretty easy to get a job from abroad and your employer will apply for your visas.  The IND website has a section dedicated to this category and this link will take you there.

Hope this helps.
