Life as a female expat in Kuwait

Hello,

While moving to a new country and discovering new cultures is definitely an exciting adventure, everybody experiences it differently. It can be particularly different for women, in both positive and negative ways.

What are some positive aspects about being a female expat in Kuwait?

What are some challenges in Kuwait that women face, and what are the ways to overcome them?

How is a woman's role viewed in Kuwaiti's culture and society?

Is it relatively safe for a woman to live in Kuwait?

How would a woman go about expanding her social network in a safe way?

Are there any resources available for women to help with their expatriation (e.g. books, articles, support networks, etc.)?

Thank you for sharing your experience,

Priscilla

Hello Priscilla,

Thank you for your efforts & lovely topics that you raise in every message..

Well, in regards to easing the expatriation effect & loneliness that most women experience, even locals who are permanently living in this country, the best activity for them is to keep good social & friendly life everyday, by subscribing in elite health clubs &/or educational institutes here & there, in subjects & sports of personal interests.

Among the preferable available resources for women to help with their expatriation status, are the Sports clubs & Dancing schools .. I strongly recommend women of all ages to learn & practice Ballet dancing. It's never too late.. It is kind of a sports after all, associated with soft relaxing music.

Women can practice ballet up to the age of 50yrs -Unlike the current belief of all people- as the case is at the Academy of Ballet-Kuwait, which is the only ballet school that offers ballet dancing to adults, where they deliver adult ballet classes to women aged 25, 36, 43 , 48 and more .. all of whom have reached a high state of satisfaction and anxiety, as to my knowledge .. and they are all doing well for months and years ..

Besides, they can choose to practice Yoga, or Rythmic Acrobatics, or belly dancing, tango or to learn how to play Piano or Violin, if they loved music .. It all enrich their bodies with high flexibility & fitness; the fact that helps keeping their morals high, and their feelings positive at the place of work..

Such training programs also help in eliminating stress & fatigue & homesickness that normally young women suffer from at the end of each working day ..

Just in case someone is interested in any of the above mentioned activities, they may inquire at the Academy of Ballet at: +965.51111628 .

Thank you once more Priscilla and have a nice week ahead.
