how long to get Romanian passport via DC consulate

I am almost done filing with the Romanian consulate in DC to get a new Romanian passport, Does anyone know how long I should expect to wait to finally have it in hand?

It will take up to 3 months......keyword up to.

Is that your experience? When you say “up to” is that sarcasm meaning it will take much longer or that is a normal wait time

@JAdams FYI - In Canada, we are told '3 months, we'll call you'. Few months ago, wife got it in 1 month while son got it in 2 months (first passport).
