Hello,
Some people say that it is necessary to deposit 5,000 USD to the national bank of Fomento to request the permanent residence of Paraguay.
Other people say that Paraguay's law says that but in practice it is necessary to deposit the same amount but in Guaranies.
Who is right ?

The required amount of deposit is actually 350 x daily minimum wage in Guaranies.
Right now that's 350 x 81,252 Gs (July 2018) = 28,438,200 Gs.
You can deposit the equivalent in US dollars, but Banco do Fomento will convert it to Guaranies (using their exchange rate, posted on their website). I think there is also a small fee (sorry, can't remember how much) charged to make the deposit.

So, it does amount to approximately 5000 US dollars, but the exact amount will depend on the current minimum daily wage and the current exchange rate.
