Note that gold in Vietnam is measured differently from cash, with different limits. On arrival you aren't required to declare under 300.000.000d of it. Probably the same is true for export, better check, but if so, you could convert some cash to gold and legally avoid declarations.
Also, depends on where you are going next. The US for example will combine the value of cash and gold for the $10,000 import declaration limit.
