Hi goodevening just want to ask if a employer terminate you without a notice what will i do. Thanks

Under the Labour Law of Oman, an employer can not just terminate with no benefits given to an employee without a good cause. If it transpires that the employer is guilty of doing that, the aggrieved employee is entitled to have compensation for wrongful termination or unfair dismissal along with other allowances as prescribed in the OLL. Moreover, even if the employer wants to terminate an employee due to a good cause, the employer has to give the allowances or benefits that an employer is entitled to have under the OLL, unless the employee is guilty of some gross offence. 

It is pertinent to look into the contract you have with your employer and need to look at the terms and conditions you agreed upon in the employment contract. Here its noteworthy that even if an employee agrees with some terms and conditions in his/her employment contract in derogation to his/her rights as given under the OLL, the employer is still bound to provide you with those benefits.

Please note that under all circumstances save as few situations, an employee is entitled to certain benefits and allowances including the compensation for wrongful termination if any. Sometimes, the Labour Court may even order for reinstatement of the employee in case of unfair dismissal, if s/he prays wishes so.

Having said that, it is always advisable to talk out a resolution with the employer, also the embassy of the employee's country may try to come to an amicable settlement with the employer. And if the above does not help much or if the aggrieved employee wants to take recourse to the Court of Law, the matter can still be tried to be resolved amicably through the Ministry of Manpower, Oman, failing that the employee can, of course, seek the legal redress in the Labour Circuit Court of Oman.  Please also note that the matters in the Labour Court save as few exceptions do not take much time.

Complain about your 'dismissal without notice' to your country's embassy in Muscat. They will then officially mediate on your behalf with your employer and will find you a fair resolution to the incident.
