We're researching international primary schools around the KLCC or Mont' Kiara areas for entry to grade 1. Not particularly concerned about the curriculum followed at this stage (i.e. American, IB, British etc.) but more on the educational experience at the school.
Other than the obvious big ones in those areas - ISKL, Mont Kiara International and Garden which also have primary years programs, I've also identified EtonHouse on Persiaran Stonor as a possible option.
There is not a ton of information or feedback available on EtonHouse. Based on my research, I found largely negative reviews but these date back to 2012-2013 (for example http://expatwifetalks.blogspot.com/2011 … 7220684902)
However, there seems to have been a change in management since those comments were written. Additionally, they are now officially an IB world school following the IB primary years program. I'd would really appreciate if anyone could offer feedback on their recent experiences with EtonHouse KL including the stability of the faculty.
While I am also considering the bigger schools mentioned above, I'm a little hesitant to send my son to large school at the primary stage. It would be helpful if you have any experiences about this that you can share and hopefully help in making an informed choice. Many thanks.
International School for Primary near KLCC or Mont Kiara
I totally agree about putting a small child in the usual mega-schools. Choose a school where you intend to live i.e. no public transport from Mont Kiara to KLCC and MK is a "like it or loathe it" environment with horrible traffic conditions.
Would suggest you will need to check if there are waiting lists as this is common for class one.
For the MK area, Desa Park city and it's school Park City International may be a good holistic choice. https://isp.edu.my/ Also take a look at Hibiscus http://www.hibiscus.edu.my
I would say only consider Eaton if you intend to live within walking distance or in KLCC heart. Other choices would be Fairview IB http://www.fairview.edu.my/fv_live/ or Taylor's KL http://www.tis.edu.my/kl/overview
Your preferred rental budget may also dictate where it is feasible to live.
