As long as you know decent English, just get familiar with the format and practice past IELTS exam papers. Grab any recent IELTS book and get to practising.
I practised for 4 days and managed to get 8 as my overall band score
(Felt like a fluke honestly, I surprised myself)
Try to do 2 papers a day (including the listening exam with the audio clips in the provided CD or grab it off the internet)
