Vacation

In planning on visiting niarobi can anyone tell me about the place.what to look out for and whatnot

Basic advice;  Recent newspaper articles report a spike in crime.  Be vigilant when walking around the CBD - avoid obviously carrying/wearing anything valuable.  Keep to busier streets.  Don't wander around with headphones on - you will look like a victim!  Try not to give money to street children, as you will soon be surrounded - buy food for them if you want to help.

Do not walk in the streets after dark.  If you want to go out make sure that you have a taxi arranged to take you, then pick you up from your venue.

Places to go and things to see are spaced out around the city.  Its not really a 'walkable' city, partly due to distance, partly safety and partly due to the lack of pavements (sidewalks).  Public transport can be a challenge for a visitor to work out, so arguably the best way of getting around is by taxi.  Uber is good value.  You can also negotiate a rate for a day at a fixed price, including waiting.
