MDEC don't have a tracker.
Thank you Gravitas. I tried with the above link but the application status result is showing as "No result found". Is there any other way I can figure this out?
Thank you Gravitas. Tried the link but my name isn't showing there.
What could be the reason behind my name not showing up in the above mentioned tracker?
There are some processes an employer has to go through before they can submit an application for an EP to immigration such as getting clearance from the Professional body or area responsible for that category of employment. This guide explains all the processes and requirements. https://esd.imi.gov.my/portal/pdf/TC-ES … r-2017.pdf
Thanks Gravitas. I confirmed with the company that is assisting my hiring company with all expat related documentation, they are saying it might take some more time as the application is showing "In progress". A bit
"https://eservices.imi.gov.my/myimms/PDStatus" , In this link I am not able to select a date after 12th April 2018. What could be the possible reason? What is the average time for approval of EP2? In case if it is taking more than 3 weeks, is it a negative sign? Hope for the best.
Any suggestions etc. are most welcome.
Because there are different phases to the Stage I process it can take the employer time to get the different approvals. Time is not a sign of problems. The issues that arise and often result in rejected applications are mainly immigration not accepting there is a need to hire a foreigner as the same skills are available among the local workforce. The other issue is lack of experience required for a Professional EP.
Thanks Gravitas. I am a technical Japanese Bilingual with approximately 3 years of experience.
The issue here is my relieving date is 27th April and I am worried that I might have to revisit my decision if I don't get the approval till then as this might be risky.
Any suggestions....
Any suggestions are most welcome.
same case with me. My application was finished on 10 april, have not received visa till now. hixx still waiting...
I was informed that for applicants whose EP has been filed in the end of March, even for them there is no update. Waiting here is not an issue but the lingering uncertainty is.
Do you have any update?
end of March ?? really ?? why it is too long ??
The suggested average time to complete the process is 20 working days.
Do remember that it is only the last part of the approval procedure that involves immigration. Before that, there are several other phases of getting sectoral permissions, etc. for the position* or even the company adding a new position to their 2018 HR plan for jobs seeking foreign hirings.
After approval, there is still the VDR (single entry visa) approval process plus the collection of the VDR to be arranged by the individual with the Malaysian consulate in home or current country.
*There are 6 authorized bodies / agencies that are given authorization to approve the employment of Expatriates based on business activities of the company. The Agencies are:
i. MIDA Malaysian Industrial Development Authority
ii. MDeC Multimedia Development Corporation
iii. PSD Public Service Department
iv. CBM Central Bank Malaysia
v. SC Securities Commission
vi. EC Expatriate Committee
How many days does it takes for the VDR approval?
It can be simulaneous with the Visa Approval, if the employer applied for both Visa and VDR approval at the same time. If not, the VDR approval in Malaysia can take 10+ working days.
The Malaysian consulate overseas that issues the VDR usually guarantee 3 working days to issue the VDR into the passport.
Thanks Gravitas.
Hi Taiyou, Do you have any update ?
Apologies for the delay. I received the EP and VDR together on 25th i.e it took 15 working days and the VDR approval in India took up another 4 working days.
yep, my documents have rejected and HR is processing again .. hix continue waiting
