Hi everyone, just exploring rental accomodation and the agreement seems a bit excessive.
They landlord requested 2 months rent as a deposit, which is OK, but if we break the lease (ie decide to move somewhere else, go back home) we have to pay out the remaining months of the lease, even if it is more than 2 months. Compared to back home, this seems a bit much.
Are these standard terms?

Yes, it's based on the Islamic understanding of a contract - which has to be honoured at least financially.
Putting in a break clause is an option. They usually mean losing the 2 months' rent deposit.
