Hello,
I am travelling to Malaysia on Employment visa next month. I came to know that Dependent visa process takes around a month to get completed.
Would it be ok if I can take a tourist visa for my family now and once they are there in Malaysia, my employer can initiate dependent visa process.
Can we cancel tourist visa once they are in Malaysia and once we get Dependent visa.

Usually best they remain in India while process is done and arrive on VDR same way as you. There is a rm500 each person Journey Performed fee if already in Malaysia. Also frequently problems with getting paperwork certified. Best scenario they are named in your passport and BSL can certify.

To get DPs marriage and birth certificates need certifying. But it's easier as process can be done in Malaysia by https://www.blsindia-malaysia.com if names are in passport.
Otherwise the process needs to be done in India.
