How long will my work pass (EP, S-Pass, WP) application take

Mine was applied on the 7/12/2018. The status is still pending today, 14/12/2018.
Hopefully, it will be approved soon.

Mine got approved on 17th Dec. Thanks All.

Finally, 3 months since the first one was rejected with a different company...

Hello, mine got rejected today, applied on 4th December.
The employer told me that it was due to cpf submission error. They wanted to apply work permit for me first bcs it has shorter wait time as they need people urgently now.
But i heard that if u graduated with professional degree and specialised field, and u have work permit history, it will be harder for you to get PR in the future?
Is it true? Should i ask them to write appeal letter to MOM or apply a work permit first?

Work Permit (WP) is for lowly skilled manual workers, who then have many restrictions in daily lofe. You don't want that, believe me!

They said they will apply for wp first then while i work with them they will try to apply spass.

WP and S-Pass are for different categories of job and employees. I doubt that you are eligible for both.
Furthermore, WP comes with many restrictions, which you probably don't want.
If your employer has really urgent and justfyable reasons for employing you immediately, they can apply for a temporary S-Pass to cover the duration untill your actual pass is decided about. This is thecorrect thing to do (although I must say such a temporary pass is issued only very rarely).

Finally, I have all my passes approved.

Would like to share timeline of my existing (EP + DP) renewal and new (EP + DP) application, which happen one after another as I get a new job offer when renewal of my existing pass was in process.

Below are the timeline and details:

EP (Renewal):
25-OCT-2018: Submitted / Pending
30-OCT-2018: Waiting for Agencies Clarence
14-NOV-2018: Approved

12-NOV-18: New company offer received.

DP (Renewal):
14-NOV-2018: Submitted / Pending
15-NOV-2018: Waiting for Agencies Clarence
30-NOV-2018: Approved

EP (New Application):
15-NOV-2018: Submitted / Pending
20-NOV-2018: Waiting for Agencies Clarence
06-DEC-2018: Approved

DP (New Application)
06-DEC-2018: Submitted / Pending
07-DEC-2018: Waiting for Agencies Clarence
24-DEC-2018: Approved

Looking at the trend above, It may be concluded that:

1. For EP application, the processing time is about 5 days before it pass to agencies for clearance.
2. For DP application, the processing time is about 1 day before it pass to agencies for clearance.
3. Clearance form agencies takes around 14 days to get approval.
4. It looks like if the case is pass for agencies clearance, the application is already process and approved without any comment. (If there is a issue with application, it usually not forward for clearance)

My EP was applied on 4/12/18 but unfortunately got rejected last week.
My company only tell me the reason was that MOM needs further information, but didn't tell much. I tried calling MOM but they asked me to ask my company.

My company does not seem to be willing to share much info with me, but I really hope to know the reason: is it personal factors or other factor, I am very worried. My company mentioned that they will appeal for me 1 week after the rejection as they mentioned they are not allowed to straight away appeal after the rejection.

May I ask what can I do to check the reason of rejection? Will going down to MOM office in person help?

If you read various threads here, we have said numerous times that MoM doesn't entertain employees to call them directly as in first place you didn't apply the work visa, it was your employer had applied.

Secondly. MoM doesn't have any obligation to tell what was the exact reason of pass rejection. It's the way they work and if employer request MoM to provide further details, they may or may not provide any clarification.

Thirdly, your employer should provide you correct information, if in case MoM had informed them earlier.  As we have mentioned earlier that appealing without addressing the root cause issue will draw no result on your application. Good luck

Your company can appeal immediately unless they need the 1 week to amend something they did wrongly

Shall I keep asking them for the reason of rejection?
I saw one of the thread which suggestion was to write a mail to MOM to ask for the reason if company declined to tell anything, will this help?
I am just afraid the reason of rejection could be solved by myself, but I didn't know, I just hope that I could do sth with my application .

If despite of several requests to your employer, they are not helping you to give any reason of rejection, then you should reach out to MoM via email. MoM may or may not give you reason of rejection.

Rejection reason you may solve by yourself but you can't appeal, it's your employer who will appeal for you. If they are not supporting you then better find a reliable employer. Good luck

Yes, that's correct. For all of my cases, I had this status for exact 14 days before the application is approved. May be for other cases, this status may take more days to clear.

However, if the application status is "waiting for agencies", most of the time that means application is processed and clear from MOM side and likely to approve in upcoming days unless someone has any past charges, police report, overstaying issue on his profile. Then either the application gets rejected or will take more time from agencies to get approval.

It will initially serve as your application ref number link to your passport, on approval it will use as FIN.

That means either MoM did not update in its system EPOnline or your employer didn't complete the submission. After few days, if there is no change in status, better check with your employer. If they had submitted complete form then they can reach out MoM to check further. Good luck

Hi guys, just wanna share my story here.

I am a Indonesian and am a fresh grad from a local university.  Furthermore, I had signed the tuition grant bond whereby I have to work here for 3 years. After I graduated, I managed to find a job which offered me a salary above the EP requirement.

The company applied my EP but it was rejected in just a week. HR told me the reason is that I am not eligible to work here (somewhere along those lines). At that point, I looked through the EP form to ensure that there was no mistakes. Unfortunately, I found out that I had written the number of years I had stayed in SG by less than a year. However, I doubt this was the reason why my EP was rejected as I noticed another friend of mine with other mistakes and his EP was approved really quick. Anyway, HR submitted my tuition grant documents with this error for the appeal. About a month later, MoM updated that they need to perform additional checks and my EP was finally approved about 2 months later.

So to those of you who had your EP rejected, I hope this would bring a small sense of peace as that was what I felt reading the cases of appeal success here. As for the reason why it was rejected, I have a feeling that it is due to my background, which is not negative at all but I can see why I was rejected based on it as it had raised some questions long time ago when I applied for my student pass (sorry i won't be sharing this here).

My E.P was applied on 27th Dec'18. I was able to see the status using my passport# since 30th Dec'18. It is currently in Pending. I will also update here if my E.P got approved/rejected.

It will show status as pending only as they are still verifying your credentials . Only when your application gets approved or rejected , the status will change.

I have similar issue with you, but more than two weeks. Can i know how long you've been received the outcome?
My new employer said that MOM is still considering the case, and pending, but the system is nv updated, still showing my current employment status.
Im also doubling that they did not apply yet.

May I know how you know that the system has been updated now,no one will know when they would update their system,and the status of the profile will ne pending on the employer or agency side till the day the profile is updated into the mom system,for which I am waiting too... good luck
