Cooling off period for changing employer

Hi,

First of all, thanks all admins for having establishing a wonderful forum with so many useful information.

I am an expat working in KL under employment pass (caterogy III). This is my 1st year of working and I'm gonna change my career to another company who offers me 5000 MYR of basic salary.

So in this case, must I still serve the 3-month cooling off period?
Please give some advice.

Hi, colling off period is for those employees who change job within category III or renew visa 4th time with category III. For your case as u mention your basic salary will be 5000rm which is category II already so in that case you don't need colling off period.
