Is common law partnership recognized in Mauritius?

Hello everyone!

Me and my partner are planning to come and live in Mauritius. My partner has submitted his application as a self-employed for an occupation permit with the BOI. After he receives his permit, I would like to submit my application as a dependent. We do have a common law partnership, but I am not sure if this is recognized in Mauritius and if the BOI accepts this?

(In the documents I read about, if a spouse also includes a common law partner, I see mixed messages)

Hope you can help! Thank in advance!

It is recognised, provided you have an official document to attest.
Same sex not recognised though.
