Here are a few prices to get you started:
Flat R15k.
House in gated estate, R30k.
You can pay less on both of these, but, as an expat, safety will be a great consideration, so staying in a secure building/estate is worth paying for.
Basic car R5k if you take a silly 60 month option. R10k if you pay it off over 36 months, which is far wiser.
500ml Craft beer at pub R45
500ml Local beer at pub R35
Levi's jeans R800
Decent work shirt from Edgars R1000
Main meal at a restaurant around R180 excluding drinks, starters and pudding.
