Hi, I'm Chandra from the US (Seattle, WA).  My husband and I recently visited the Netherlands, and fell in love.  We will be able to retire early in about 7 years, and we are looking into the possibility of living for an extended time in the Netherlands.  We would even love to becoming Dutch citizens, but from the little research I've done, it seems nearly impossible. 

Does anyone have advice on how we would go about living abroad without moving there for job purposes?  Thanks for the help

Hi, Seeking an opportunity to move to FL, but SC would do, too:). After reading some posts here and other sites I've been quite confused because some people who managed to move to US telling how terribly expensive everything is for non-US citizens and some people are just telling how great it is to live there. I also got the feeling some people have managed to move in even they didn't fulfill the requirements you can find on us. gov pages.
So, is that because they have used the right words on their applications, pulled the right strings, or what are the stories behind that?
Would love to read your story and anything helpful tips are appreciated.

Im Ashani originally from Sri Lanka,moved to Cary,NC,USA in 2015 with my working husband. I'm a stay at home mom with two toddlers. Currently I live in Pittsburgh,PA. I've been living in Manchester,NH too. Life in USA is so far good.  I write a food-blog called "The Devour Diaries" in WordPress. Because I'm a food enthusiast.

I worry about settling permanently here(worry about gun laws and bad Healthcare system,long processing time for visas etc) and on the fence of deciding go to Canada or give some years to this beautiful country of the USA. That's why I'm here.
