Sara here, planning on a move to Oman but searching for work opportunities. I would be moving with my husband and a daughter inshaAllah. Just waiting for the right opportunity. I am wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction in terms of possible careers/jobs in Muscat, or Oman for a woman. I know Dubai is pretty open minded and have their ladies working in every sector and position. I am not sure how conservative is Oman in this regard. I have bachelors in Psychology from University of Toronto and worked in an IT company in sales and operations before switching to banking for a year. At the moment I am on maternity leave and considering post graduate study programs. At the moment i could pursue studies in project management (which can tie in my previous work experience in my IT company), human resource management or business analyst. Another choice would be to do something something related to Education.  Any sort of guidance would be appreciated.

Moved to Muscat last month to join my husband who has been working here for almost 18 months.
I am French but lived most of my life in the UK.

I have found the cultural surroundings wonderful and I love my new life here.

However, I am finding myself very isolated as I cannot work and do not yet have the luxury of a car. My husband is the only other human being I meet for days on end and that is a very new experience for me as I have always been active and part of my community.

I contacted several expat women groups, including one on this very site, but none responded.
How women meet to befriend one another in this city and does one married white woman can be part of a community here?

I'm not a newbie but i would like to intrude😁

Most expats concerns is finding a community in a foreign country which is a basic human need "to belong". With a couple of expats we started the meet ups in Muscat in 2013 and ended up into day trips, camping trips and best of all we found a family in Oman. Thanks to expat-blog.com that time.

Members come and go and till date we are still open to new joiners and continue my program Friday Fun in Oman. We do meet ups, coffee, tea, shisha, food trips etc. with the aim of  connecting expats through fun moments.

Due to the weather restrictions at the moment, we are focusing on indoor meet ups to break the ice so when the weather gets cooler for road trips and camping trips, members are comfortable with each other.

We are organizing a Breakfast Meet on 22 June details i will post separately.

If expats are really serious to meet, connect and belong, get out of your comfort zones.....

I recently moved to mirbat salalah for a very prestigious project. I am mechanical engineer. I am very active sports person but i since i am new here i dont know if there are any cricket groups here (please reply me) I am very good batsman and bowler. Someone also suggest me a good gym. Graduated from my home town college named sngs college pattambi in economics I started search my job & reached Bangalore. With the help of my friend I start my life journey with a small job. I am very happy to live the state of karnataka with my family for more than 28 years by the earnings me and my wife with two boys. I came Oman before 2 years to a shop of my cousin brother as I happened some financial crisis occur in the business after my wrong planning. Here iam not settle till now.
