I live in a rural area around 5 km from Todi in Umbria. Please see answers after the questions
How much does it cost to rent an apartment or a house in rural Umbria?
Depends what you look for. I pay for a 2 bedroom, small garden and porch, kitchen-living room area, bathroom (shower) - around 75 qm 300 Euro per month.

How much does it cost to buy an apartment or a house rural Umbria?
Again: depends what you are looking for - anything between Euro 150.000 upwards

How much do you pay on average for public transportation (bus, subway, train, tram, taxi)?
Not relevant - you need a car.

How much do you pay for basic food items such as rice, bread, and pasta?
1 person household - per month around Euro 150.

What is your monthly budget for groceries?
Euro 300

How much does it cost to fill up your car’s fuel tank?
An old Fiat Palio Station Wagon - around 80 Euro

How much do you pay for electricity/gas/water etc., per month?
Electricity: 40, gas 15 (if you DO NOT HEAT WITH IT, only cooking etc.) water 20 per month.
If you heat with gas it gets VERY expensive..

How much do you pay for your internet and phone subscription?
No phone - Internet 20 euro per month

How much do you pay for an espresso coffee?
1 Euro

How much does a gym membership cost in Italy?
40 euro per month

Hi, I'll be giving answers about Napoli, and only to the questions to which I have an answer at all...

To rent an apartment: at least 500 Euros.

Public transportation: bus: 1.10, subway (depends on which line you'll be taking, and your destination): at least 1.10, taxi: 10-minute ride =  12 Euros approx.

Monthly budget for groceries: 250 plus or minus.

Electricity/gas/water etc., per month: around 50.

Phone subscription: 15.

An espresso coffee: 80 - 90 cents.

Hello, I'm a student and I live in the center of Milan, so my answers will be relevant to mainly 18-26 yo demographic :)

How much does it cost to rent an apartment or a house in Italy?
My flatmate and I pay 1300 euros for a two bedroom apartment in the center of Milan, but we were very very lucky to find it.

How much do you pay on average for public transportation (bus, subway, train, tram, taxi)? The monthly ATM pass costs me 22 euros.

How much do you pay for basic food items such as rice, bread, and pasta? 1 euro for bread and pasta, 3 euros for rice.

What is your monthly budget for groceries? 200-250 euros.

How much do you pay for your internet and phone subscription? 50 euros for internet every 2 months and 10-15 euros for my phone.

How much do you pay for an espresso coffee? 1 euro in normal cafés, more in very touristic spots.

TORINO PRICES
How much does it cost to rent an apartment or a house in Torino? 1 bedroom, 1 living room, kitchen, bathroom - 450/500 euros a month, plus expenses (around 50 euros a month). Heating is around 800 euros a year.

How much does it cost to buy an apartment or a house in Torino? Downtown: 2500/3000 euros per square meters - suburb 1200/1500 euros per square meters

How much do you pay on average for public transportation (bus, subway, train, tram, taxi)? Public transport: 38 euros a month/321 a year. taxi is a bit expensive

How much do you pay for basic food items such as rice, bread, and pasta? 1 kg of bread is around 2.5/3 euros. 1 kg of rice is 2 euros. 1 kg of pasta 1.5 euros

What is your monthly budget for groceries? 300 euros

How much does it cost to see a doctor/dentist/physician/specialist in Italy?
An excellent public healthcare is available for EU citizens. The quality is very good, the waiting lists can be avoided if you go directly to a CUP Centro Unico Prenotazioni and if your General doctor (the visit to a the general doctor is free of charge) puts a special code on your exam request (urgent). You pay a ticket: the most expensive ticket for specialist exams (such as colonoscopy) is 60-70 euros. Visit to a specialist doctor in the public hospital is 20 euros. There are free of charge prevention programs for women's cancers.
Unfortunately dentist are expensive: a cavity cure can cost around 150 euros. An extraction: 200-250 euros.

How much do you pay for health insurance per month? No need for health insurance, if you are a EU citizen.

How much does childcare cost on average per month? Childcare is very expensive 600 euros a month

What is your child's schooling budget per month? Public schools are free of charge.

How much does it cost to fill up your car’s fuel tank? Fuel is expensive: 1.6-1.8 euros a liter

How much do you pay for electricity/gas/water etc., per month? light and gas: 50 euros. Water is 20 euros a month.

How much do you pay for your internet and phone subscription? My mobile phone has a plan (10Gbdata+voice+text) 7 euros a month. fast home internet and phone: 25 euros a month. The quality of internet in Italy is good: fast and cheap.

How much do you pay for your lunch pack on weekdays? average lunch: 8-10 euros (many italian companies give food vouchers to employees as benefit: around 6 euros worth)

How much do you pay for an espresso coffee? 1 euro

How much do you pay for a cinema ticket? 7 euros, but once a week there is a special promo at 4 euros

How much does a gym membership cost in Italy? from 30 euros to 60 euros (a chic one!)
