Hi everyone,

I am a Ph.D student. I will be in Dakar for two months (June 9-Aug. 4). I have questions on housing, transportation, food, cost of living, language (I speak French fluently), and how I can stretch my student dollar smile

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at maaugust@wustl.edu.

Thank you!

Armand

Here are the questions that I have so far:

1. How can I go about finding housing that is somewhat close to the university?
2. How much should I expect to pay for food and transportation for two months?
3. What other expenses do I need to be aware of?
4. I speak French fluently, would I be OK?

Thank you!

Armand

Hi mariposacarib :)

For your housing i can suggest you to have a look at the accommodation section of Dakar classifieds and eventually post an advert with your criteria ;)
I don't if others will agree but i think that being bilingual will be a definite advantage.
I hope other members will be able to tell you more about the cost of living soon ;)

Regards
Armand
