I know a German guy who is the husband of my mother in law, according to him there are about 10,000 Germans living here in Bulgaria permanently, as per the embassy's record. He also has a close German guy friend who works as a professor here in Sofia. My father in law doesn't speak Bulgarian as I knew him for 7 plus years but he is fine. He rather speaks little English.
