HI All,

I'm trying to do some planning ahead. Here is my question, can I take my USA certified birth certificate to a Brazilian consulate here in the USA to be verified/translated? I will at some point in the future apply for residency or citizenship. I'm Just trying to see if I can have the birth certificate verified/translated from a Brazilian consulate now and just hang on to it for when I need it down the road.

I recently received the cert birth certificate about 30 days ago.

Documents submitted to Brazil cannot be more than 180 days old. brazilian consulate no longer certifies most documents. you have to do that with apostille.
